A diversified medium sized company employing 700 people with an annual revenue of $16 million is looking for a suitable qualified Accountant.

Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Accountant.

Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Accountant who reports to the Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Preparing financial budgets inclusive of budget profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flows
• Managing thee cash flow of the organization
• Managing the organisation’s tax issues
• Ensuring timely and accurate it production of financial and management accounts
• Providing timely and appropriate financial information to management as required
• Providing administrative support and supervision of accounting department staff
• Processing of monthly standing journals
• Processing monthly bank reconciliations
• Maintenance of fixed asset register
• Management of debtors and creditors
• Timely remittance of statutory returns
• Providing sound financial advice to the company

Competencies Required:

• Ability to plan and organize work
• Ability to use MS Excel
• Write clear and concise reports
• Communicate effectively orally
• Ability to respond quickly to requests
• Ability to use Pastel Evolution

Qualifications: Accounting degree and professional course (ACCA, CIMA) is an added advantage.

Experience: At least 5 years post qualification in mining or heavy industry. Experience with Pastel Evolution a must.
