The Crop Trust is a non-profit international organization that works to conserve crop diversity and make it available for use globally. In Zimbabwe, its efforts have included supporting the safeguarding of national crop collections, such as through the deposit of Zimbabwean seed samples in the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. This work helps protect the genetic foundation of Zimbabwe’s agriculture against threats like climate change and disease. The organization collaborates with local and international partners to ensure these vital resources remain accessible for future breeding and research.
