The successful candidate would be overally in-charge of the Radio Station and should exhibit demonstrable management skills with the capacity to inspire subordinates. He/she should show commitment, focus and be transparent in handling management issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Media, Journalism and/or Communication or its equivalent;
- Any additional paper qualifications in line with the post would be an added advantage;
- Exposure to broadcasting environment or running a station for at least two (2) years would be a distinct advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a working ethos at the Station;
- Develop standard operating procedures for the new Station;
- Monetise spaces with effectiveness and accountability;
- Participate in Outreach activities in the department;
- Maintain Station visibility across the University and in the community.
Personal Attributes
- Should have studio experience and exposure to broadcasting industry;
- Must be articulate and sensitive to environmental and human factors;
- Capacity to build a team, supervise and execute tasks;
- Trustworthy and dependable;
- Clearance certificate may be required.
