CHAMBER SECRETARY/ DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL
ADMINISTRATION – (GRADE 15)
Reporting to the TOWN CLERK
Key result areas:
Providing leadership and counsel in the formulation of legal and administrative policies and strategies to ensure that the entire Council observes the prevailing legal, administrative and corporate governance standards
Providing legal advice/services to Council as well as ensuring that all legal frameworks including by-laws supporting the operations of Council are current and relevant
Developing and inculcation of strong administrative practices that support the organizational vision and strategies
-Strong human resources management competencies aimed at instilling discipline and a high work ethic amongst staff at all levels
Providing ongoing support to Council and its committees and management around the understanding and application of legal administrative and corporate governance standards Ensuring that Council resolutions and policies are in accordance with relevant statutes, by-laws and other regulations or guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
-A law or Social Sciences degree from a recognized University
is a must
-A relevant Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
At least 5 years post qualification experience with the public service at middle management level in an administrative position
Experience in the Local Government Sector will be a distinct advantage
-Astute leadership, analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
High level of integrity
-Clean class 4 Drivers licence
No criminal record
-Clean record of service within local government fraternity, or public sector.
A citizen of Zimbabwe
