Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacancy that has risen at the Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) in Harare, Zimbabwe. Applicants should have traceable academic/practical experience in the relevant areas of expertise.
The Deputy Bursar shall be accountable to the Bursar in carrying out the following key duties:
Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintenance of sound financial processes and systems.
- Production of the annual financial statements and overseeing the external year- end audit.
- Assist in making financial and investment decisions.
- Maintaining expenditures for various departments within budget.
- Preparation of management accounts and production of management reports.
- Supervision of Assistant Bursars to ensure compliance with financial regulations, payment of statutory returns, creditors and debtors’ reconciliation.
- Developing and revising accounting rules for adoption by the Bursary Department.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, in Accounting/Finance/Banking.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
- Registered Public Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CIS).
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience with traceable references.
