Job Summary
The GOM will be the energetic head of all divisional units responsible for productivity of each
business and setting daily, weekly and monthly performance targets for the subordinates. The GOM
will be tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of each
business and ensure each business makes profits. He/She will report to the Group CEO directly and
oversee the implementation of the company’s business plan and company strategies that are
created by him/her and the executive management and has the responsibility of “delivering results
on a day-to-day, week-to-week and month-to-month basis”.
Duties And Responsibilities
Ensuring that all group assets are sweated at maximum return
Handling HR issues which divisional managers can’t conclude on, and at the same time ensuring fairness from top to bottom
Visiting sites for continuous inspection and corrections and doing at least one month meeting with each business division
Putting tight shrinkage policies and smart processes which enhance performance, productivity, controls, accountability and kill fraud in the whole
organization
Putting practical performance systems so that non performers are dealt with quickly and at the same time rewarding good performance
Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity
Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career
development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution
At the direction of the CEO and the executive management, marshalling limited resources to the most productive uses with the aim of creating
maximum value for the company’s stakeholders
Developing and cascading the organization’s strategy/mission statement to the lower-ranking staff, and implementing appropriate
rewards/recognition and coaching or corrective practices to align personnel with company goals
Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance
management, and annual operating planning
Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational
outcomes are met
Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the
CEO
Directly oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with the CEO on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to
achieve growth targets over the near term
Overseeing the daily business and administrative operations and improving operating procedures for optimal efficiency
Qualifications And Experience
Must be an engineer or accountant. MBA is an added advantage.
Must have minimum 3 years in a similar position
Must have strong communication and leadership skills
Key projects to be undertaken
Construction Projects (Roads and Facilities)
Build a chain of hardware shops under Matsmart
Build malls and hotels
