PROGRAM COORDINATOR – YOUTH ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (YEE) AND SRHR
Location – Harare Program Area
Reporting to the Program Area Manager (PAM), the Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall oversight of the YEE and SRHR project. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating youth group/partners, facilitate capacity building trainings for youth-led groups in Hopley. Facilitate capacity enhancement for SRHR service providers in Hopley and also provide leadership in documentation of Most Significant Change stories for both YEE and SRHR outcomes.
Duties And Responsibilities
Accountabilities:
Assessment, Program Design and Planning
In association with the relevant Thematic Lead, the Program Coordinator ensures that sound plans and budgets are developed and monitoring mechanisms put in place for the Youth Economic Empowerment project.
Ensure the PAM/Thematic Lead, is kept informed about progress on assessment, project plan, project plans and implementation, progress reports, and other significant developments.
Provide technical assistance on the development of all project implementation plans and budgets within the framework of donor guidelines.
The Program Coordinator ensures that Child Protection standards are adhered to by Plan staff, partners and implementing parties.
The Program Coordinator ensures that all Plan interventions have a clear focus on girls, boys and adolescents, with adequate situational analysis and solutions that promote children’s access to their basic rights, ensuring child participation and non-discrimination
Project Management and Implementation
A member of the YEE Network and provide technical support to all teams implementing the Youth Economic Empowerment project on youth programming and movement building
Ensure adequate monitoring, reporting and acquittal of project activities in accordance with Plan’s policies and systems.
Keeps track in collaboration with MERL team on the outcomes and indicators, milestones and targets and consolidates the progress of the quarterly and annual reports.
Ensure that corporate reports are completed in SAP and other systems.
Designs high quality concept notes and proposals for resource mobilization.
Program Learning and Communication
Identify learning and training opportunities for staff and partners and work as a mentor to ensure high quality outcomes
Ensure that effective use is made of learning from Program monitoring and evaluation to strengthen Program delivery and inform wider practice in relation to Plan International Zimbabwe work.

Adherence to Plan policies, including:
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding of Children & Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.
Qualifications And Experience
Knowledge
Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies, Agriculture or related discipline
A related post graduate qualification desirable
A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience at a similar level preferably in an NGO environment
Understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child poverty
Knowledge of strategic planning processes and theories of child-rights programing
Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges, opportunities and implications to community development
Skills:
Proven ability to develop project proposals and concepts
Excellent networking and partnership building skills
Strong youth engagement and facilitation skills
Research, analytical and problem solving skills
Good communication, facilitation and report writing skills
Strong team-building and motivational skills
Strong negotiating, strategic thinking and influencing skills
Work style: Is well planned and organized even within a fluid working environment and has a capacity for initiative and decision making with competent analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge and skills: knowledge of PLAN policies and procedures, NGO Code of Conduct. Requires general finance, administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills.
