Introduction
A local NGO working in the area of promoting and advancing women’s rights, including women with disabilities is looking for a qualified Finance and Admin officer. The organisation aims to empower women in their diversities economically, politically and socially through amplifying their voices in all local and national processes, creating platforms for engagement, capacity building and advocacy.
Job description
Preparing and submitting timely and reliable project financial documents and financial reports; Prepare project financial reports, statement and submit to the Director; Prepare payroll statements, allowances, travel claims and other payments to the Programme Personnel, vendors and other claimants; Help to design and monitor a sustainable accounting and finance management system for Programme activities, establish internal controls and monitoring mechanisms, maintain cash and bank books and reconciliation with bank statements, including periodic control of disbursements and balancing of books and ledgers; Assist in administering, controlling the disbursement of funds within the approved budgetary allocations, in accordance with established regulations and procedures and within the established delegation of authorities; Serve as primary expert in dealing with activities related to financial management, such as budget, banking, procurement, accounting, financial reporting and controls, recruitment, HR Evaluation and audit and risk management processes, etc; Keep and maintain company accounts records in soft as well as in hard form; Make sure verification of all the accounts record before auditory process; Responsible to submit the financial report for compilation, review and onwards submission to the donor; Make sure all the records / accounts / financial transactions are booked before the audit commencement; Manages all correspondence within and outside the organization; Receives advice from the project Manager and Executive Director on relevant issues and tend to that information/inquiries sought; Conveys all the required instructions and policies of the organization to the staff and the views of the regional staff to the leading body; Responsible to supervise the work, related to purchase of furniture, office equipment, computers, vehicles / motorbikes / bicycles, air conditioner and miscellaneous; Responsible to negotiate services agreements with vendors; Looks after administrative affairs of the Office; Any other task assign by the superior.
Key qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent; At least 3 years relevant continuous work experience in a finance and administrative functions; Experience with donor funded projects will be an added advantage; Demonstrated experience in procurement and preparation of financial reports and budget variance analysis; High integrity, strong result orientation, drive for excellence and takes initiative; Good communication skills; Excellent communication and analytical skills; Good interpersonal skills and result orientation; Work experience with MS Office applications is a must; Work experience with Palladium accounting package and Belina payroll system is a must.
