Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the following position that has arisen in our organization. The successful candidate will be working at St Anne’s Hospital.
Duties And Responsibilities
The incumbent will be reporting to the General Manager and will be responsible for the following among other duties:
- Financial planning and formulation and implementation of budgets.
- Exercise overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including systems, corporate finance, managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt taxation, equity and acquisitions as appropriate.
- Ensuring that all the budgets are developed, reviewed and corrective action undertaken timeously.
- Developing all the financial and or accounting policies and procedures into comprehensive manuals.
- Implementing computerized financial management and accounting systems.
- Establishing adequate financial controls, which ensure the credibility of financial information of the organization.
- Ensure that all accounting and reporting is accurate and in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Producing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports that inform periodic St Annes business performance and inform the shareholder and stakeholders of the financial performance of the v
- Initiating and implementing programmes to reduce costs in order to make the operations of the St Anne’s Hospital more financially viable.
- Providing the General Manager and the Board with technical expertise in finance matters.
- Timely production of financial statements that comply with Financial Standards.
- Setting up and implementing effective credit control systems of collection for debts to reduce St Anne’s exposure to bad debts.
- Liaising with internal and external Auditors.
Qualifications And Experience
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent.
- A professional qualification e.g., full CIS, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
- A relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- A thorough knowledge of various Accounting packages is a distinct advantage
- At least 7 years’ relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar position.
- Essential Specialist Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent Financial, Treasury and Accounting skills.
- Risk Management skills Strategic Management skills.
- Good interpersonal and written skills.
- Good supervisory skills.
- Accuracy at figures and ability to work under pressure.
- Analytic mind.
