A leading organization in Harare is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Assayers who operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive bullion samples from the Melting House
- Preparing samples for analysis
- Conduct tests to determine bullion chemical composition using both SG and Fire Assay analysis methods.
- Performing instrumental analysis using the XRF, AAS, CIP, etc.
- Verify the purity and quality of bullion
- Maintain accurate record of tests, sample sources and results
- Calibrate devices to ensure precise and accurate measurements
- Reporting on analytical results and metal holdings.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Diploma in Metallurgical Assaying
- Degree in Analytical Chemistry
- Having a working knowledge of laboratory management
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
