The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is a statutory body mandated to ensure the provision of a level playing field for safe, reliable and sustainable energy supply through effective regulation. ZERA seeks the services of a highly competent and results oriented individual to actively contribute to the execution of this mandate. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitating licensing of fuel and LPG operators in the region.
- Carrying out routine and pre-licensing inspections for fuel and LPG sites.
- Carrying out compliance monitoring to ensure all fuel and gas operators licensees are compliant to licensing, pricing and technical requirements.
- Administering the prosecution of operators violating licensing, pricing and technical regulations and standards.
- Ensuring returns are diligently submitted by all licensees.
- Facilitating training of LPG and fuel operators on petroleum standards and regulations.
- Assisting with investigations of complaints/disputes/incidents/accidents in the petroleum industry.
- Participates in regional consumer and stakeholder education and awareness programs.
- Carrying out any other related duties including liquid fuel sites inspections and audits as assigned by Supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Civil or Mechanical or Fuels and Chemical Engineering from a recognised technical training institution or university.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the petroleum industry covering LPG and Fuel installations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety, health, environment and quality systems for the petroleum industry.
- Knowledge of petroleum industry standards and codes will be an added advantage.
- Clean class 4 driver’s licence is a necessary.
