Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position which has arisen within our Transfer Secretaries and Custodial Services business. We are looking for an exceptional, Transfer Secretarial Officer to join our dynamic Transfer Secretaries Team. If you have a proven track record in hands-on execution and verification of all transfer secretarial work and compliance in line with Zimbabwe capital market regulations including SECZ, ZSE, and AML/CFT requirements, we want to hear from you. As a Transfer Secretarial Officer, you will hold an operational and compliance-focused role, responsible for our regulatory and technical operations. You will also be responsible for the accurate administration of investor records, ownership transfers of securities, units, and shares ensuring regulatory compliance, auditability, service quality and transactional integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the appointed person under the Securities Act, ensuring day-to-day operational compliance with all regulations.
- Execute and verify the accurate processing of share register updates, transmissions, and maintenance.
- Lead the hands-on processing of all corporate actions: dividends, rights issues, IPOs, and mergers from initiation to completion.
- Assist in preparation, checking of all mandatory regulatory reports and filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Implement operational checklists and controls to ensure error-free output in all registry functions.
- Prepare reconciliations on bank accounts, debtors, creditors, share deals accounts, dividends accounts and money market investments.
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for regulatory queries and audits.
- Report on operational compliance status and issues and perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned to the Senior Manager.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Business, Management, or an equivalent field.
- A Professional Certification in Financial Risk Management or demonstrated progress towards a Chartered Financial Analyst qualification would be an added advantage.
- Full membership in a recognised professional body such as ICAZ, ACCA, CIMA, CFA Institute or IOBZ.
- A minimum of three (3) years of direct, hands-on experience in the back-office and administration of a Transfer Secretaries firm OR in securities regulation.
- Within the above, at least one (1) year must have been in a senior technical or specialist capacity, demonstrating deep operational expertise.
- Demonstrated and expert-level, hands-on proficiency in share registry systems and the end-to-end processing of corporate actions.
- Mastery of the Zimbabwean securities regulatory framework as it applies to daily transfer secretarial operations.
- A meticulous eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulations to daily operational work.
- High levels of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive client information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for technical and compliance-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills for daily liaising with regulators, clients, and internal teams with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities supported by excellent critical and analytical thinking skills.
