Our client in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector is seeking to appoint a dynamic and results-driven Buyer to strengthen their procurement team.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify the organization’s purchasing needs.
- Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate best prices, quantities, and delivery timelines.
- Process requisitions and update management on order status.
- Update inventory records and manage stock levels.
- Analyze target markets and trends to make informed buying decisions.
- Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom.
- Develop and maintain an accurate system for monitoring purchase orders.
- Deliver weekly purchase order reports to supervisors, including invoice details for closed orders.
- Monitor stock quality and escalate discrepancies to suppliers and management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in both international and local procurement.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven purchasing decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- FMCG sector experience is an added advantage.
