VACANCY: RESOURCE GEOLOGIST [1]
Hwange Colliery Company Limited Holdings, a local diversified organisation with investments interest in Mining, Real Estate, Health Care, Agriculture and Energy has a vacancy for the position of Resource Geologist under the Hwange Mining and Processing Company. This position reports to the Mineral Resources Manager. The ideal candidate for the post should be organized, creative and analytical with a passion to support the HCCL Business Improvement Plan (BIP).
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Generate, review and update resource estimates in line with recognized reporting standards and Company requirements.

Validate, organize and manage geological and geochemical databases ensuring accuracy and integrity.

Integrate exploration drilling, infill drilling and mapping data into geological models and provide timely updates to planning and operational teams.

Develop, update and maintain 3D geological models for all mineral assets to support mine planning and resource development.

Recommend upgrades, efficiency improvements and new technologies to improve modelling workflows.

Conduct seam correlation, quality modelling and structural interpretation to enhance resource confidence and reduce geological risk.

Produce technical reports, model update summaries, statutory submissions and resource statements for management, regulators and potential investors.

Analyze relevant geological, geochemical and mineral quality data to support commercial and operational decision-making.

Provide input into feasibility studies, business cases, long-term plans and strategic growth initiatives.

Prepare geological plans, sections and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.

Monitor and control costs related to geological modelling, database management and resource evaluation activities to ensure alignment with budgets and efficiency targets.

Ensure all geological modelling, database management and resource evaluation activities comply with Company ESG requirements.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior geologists, graduate learners and interns.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
-
Good Communication Skills.
-
Clean Class 4 drivers Licence.
-
Proficiency in Resource modelling software (Surpac, Minex), GIS tools e.t.c
-
Strong understanding of recognised mineral resource estimation and reporting standards, and ability to apply these in generating resource models and statements.

Proficiency in geo statistical analysis.
-
Minimum Three (3) years post Learnership experience in a mining or exploration environment.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

BSc Degree in Geology / Earth Sciences.
