ZIMBABWE FOREIGN SERVICE INSTITUTE (Procurement Officer)

 

 

Position: Procurement Officer

Reports To: Director-General

Station: Harare (Zimbabwe Foreign Service Institute)

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

• Develop and consolidation of Procurement plans aligned with ZFSI operational requirements;

• Prepare procurement documents to publicly solicit bids and contracts for the procurement of goods and services;

• Conduct procurement research, providing guidance and direction in accordance with procurement policies;

• Assist in the production of statutory procurement reports;

• Maintain and update procurement records;

• Monitor supplier performance and maintain good supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods and services;

• Ensure compliance with relevant procurement laws, policies and procedures

• Assist in negotiating terms and prices with service providers;

• Support internal stakeholders in procurement -related inquiries and provide guidance on procurement procedures;

• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay informed about industry trends;

• Ensure ethical procurement practices and prevent conflict of interest.

 

 

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

 

 

• A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field

• Masters degree is an added advantage;

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management preferably within Government or public sector entities;

• Knowledge of procurement laws, policies and procedures relevant to the public sector;

• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills;

• Proficiency in procurement software and MS office applications;

• At least 2 year’s experience.
