Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following posts which have arisen within the organisation.

 

 

 BUILDING INSPECTOR (GRADE 8)

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

 

• Conducting building inspections to ensure that all civil engineering construction structures are in accordance with the approved plans and designs, comply with model building by-laws, Makoni RDC by-laws and civil engineering statutes

• Serving notices and enforcement orders to owners of illegal structures and make follow ups to ensure compliance

• Attending to queries from residents on all building matters

• Prepare inspection reports to maintain accurate records of inspections

• Performing other duties as directed by the District Planner

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

 

• A minimum of a Diploma in Building Construction / Brick and Block Laying or Class 1 Artisan in Building Construction

• At least two (2) years relevant working experience

• Computer literate with experience in Auto CAD

• Ability to read construction layout drawings and specifications

• A clean class 3 driver’s license is an added advantage

• A clean criminal record

• A clean record of service within the local government fraternity

• Applicants must not be more than 35 years
