TECHNICAL SUPPORT & QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

 

 

The Technical Support and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of storage, transportation, distribution and dispensing of product, maintenance of equipment, general engineering and total quality assurance functions. The role safeguards operational excellence, control of losses, regulatory and licensing compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting the company’s overall strategic objectives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Managing and overseeing all aspects of moving, storing, and delivering product, from planning and strategy to logistics and daily operations, and quality assurance.

  • Coordinating transportation, distribution and storage of product and storage, managing carriers, optimizing distribution chain strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Managing for the timely and cost-effective movement of products, to meet customer demand, collaborating with sales, customer service teams, among others, and external partners to ensure adequate stock and avoid any disruptions or challenges that arise in the supply chain.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Assurance Plan for all business processes. Apply standard QA methodologies, tools, and best practices to identify, track, and reduce process or production errors.

  • Establish and monitor KPI’s related to business registration accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency for transport, quality and SHEQ.

  • Conduct quality and technical audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established quality, business licensing and related ESG procedures.

  • Assist in the design and execution of data-driven reports, analysing trends and recommending corrective actions to ensure continuous quality improvement.

  • Maintain documentation and participate in internal and external audits related to quality assurance and registration compliance.

  • Working with suppliers to ensure the quality of supplies of technical requirements and products.

  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient transportation and distribution, including optimizing routes, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Manage fleet operations to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective distribution of products. This includes route planning, scheduling, and vehicle utilization.

  • Preparation of operational budgets, analyse financial records to improve efficiency, and negotiate contracts with service providers for favourable rates.

  • Develop and implement total quality management policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation as well as other international standards.

  • Promote a culture of quality, health, safety, and environmental responsibility across all departments, contributing to the implementation of the ESG policy.

  • Oversee transportation and equipment inventory and maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability and assets optimisation.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

 

  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Operations and Quality Management, Logistics or related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations and Quality Management, or related field

  • Professional certifications in Logistics Management or Quality Systems or SHEQ are an added advantage.

  • At least 8 years’ experience and a proven track record of successful transportation, distribution and storage and quality management with at least 4 years in a managerial role are essential.

  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma or Operational Excellence is preferred.

 

 

Key Competencies:

 

 

  • Expertise in logistics software, such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), data analysis tools for logistics optimization and understanding of inventory management and demand forecasting.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, including problem-solving, decision-making abilities and ability to manage multiple functions and prioritize under pressure.
