Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to be considered for engagement in the following exciting positions that has arisen within the Institution.
- The position: REGIONAL DIRECTOR – EASTERN REGION
Job specifications:
The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination and effective management of the operations of the Region to ensure achievement of short-term and long-term strategic goals of the Institution. The primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the formulation and implementation of Regional strategic objectives and plans.
- Superintending the effective administration of the Region through regular and effective communication channels with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate governance principles in all activities of the Region.
- Ensuring that research projects undertaken in the Region fit with the Institution’s strategies.
- Effective management of the Region’s financial, human and material resources.
- Developing and monitoring systems that ensure the security of the Region’s assets, collections, monuments and sites.
- Identifying and utilising effective alliances and opportunities for joint advocacy and programming work with similar institutions to enable the appropriate development of museums, sites and monuments.
- Periodic reporting as required to enable proper and timeous decision-making.
Person specification:
The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in Human or Natural Sciences /Museum Studies
- A qualification in Strategic Management or Business Management an added advantage
- Postgraduate qualification in administration, management or leadership
- At least 5 years managerial experience and proven leadership skills in a similar environment
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Knowledge of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act and Results Based Management System
- Knowledge of key management and administrative practices of the public sector.
