Job Title: Deputy Director – ICT Infrastructure Development and Support Services

 

Reports to: Director Information Communication and Technology

 

Key Responsibilities

 

i. Develop and implement ICT infrastructure strategies, standards, and policies aligned to NPAZ’s strategic goals and national ICT frameworks.
ii. Lead ICT infrastructure architecture design and ensure alignment with justice sector systems and Government standards.
iii. Manage the planning, implementation, and upgrading of core infrastructure systems such as Wide and Local Area Networks, Data centres and server infrastructure, Virtualisation and storage systems, End-user computing hardware and software.
iv. Oversee the rollout and support of ICT infrastructure across NPAZ Head Office, Provincial and District stations.
v. Supervise the ICT service desk and technical support teams to ensure efficient management and user support.
vi. Establish and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for ICT support services.
vii. Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols, firewalls, antivirus systems, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
viii. Ensure compliance with relevant ICT policies, Cyber and Data Protection Act, and other regulatory frameworks.
ix. Prepare regular infrastructure and support performance reports for senior management and oversight bodies.
x. Lead ICT infrastructure development projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, resourcing, and reporting.
xi. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate ICT technical staff and ensure continuous professional development.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

i. A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications from a recognised institution.
ii. A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MSc in Information Systems, ICT Management, or any related field is an added advantage).
iii. At least 8 years of continuous experience in Public Sector ICT infrastructure and support services, with at least 2 years at managerial or supervisory level.

 

Key Competencies

 

i. Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure design and technologies as well as familiarity with public sector ICT governance frameworks
ii. Solid understanding of information security management and risk assessment.
iii. Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
iv. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
