CITY OF HARARE: CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT VACANCY NOTICE
*POSITION: District Research and Information Officer (5 Positions)
*GRADE: 8
*LOCATION: City Health Clinics/Hospitals
*REPORTS TO: Clinical Medical Officer
*Job purpose: The position is responsible for ensuring effective data collection, analysis, and reporting of health information within their assigned district, supporting data-driven decision-making and quality improvement activities
*KEY RESULT AREAS
⚕ Supervising and mentoring health facility staff on data collection, recording, and reporting using appropriate tools.
⚕ Ensuring accurate and timely data entry into the Zimbabwe Health Information System (DHIS2).
⚕ Conducting routine data quality audits at health facilities.
⚕ Analyzing health data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
⚕ Generating reports and presentations to inform decision-making at the district level.
⚕ Disseminating health information to relevant stakeholders.
⚕ Providing technical support to healthcare workers on data management and health information systems.
⚕ Mentoring facility-level staff to ensure they can collect, consolidate, verify, analyze, and use data for facility-level data-driven decision-making and quality improvement activities.
⚕ Monitoring and evaluating the performance of health programs within the district.
⚕ Contributing to the development and implementation of health information systems.
⚕ Conducts operational research so as to understand community and district health behaviours
*QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
⚕ Degree in Health Information Management/Biostatistics/Health Informatics
⚕ Two (2) years’ experience in a similar position is required
*OR*
⚕ Higher National Diploma in Health Information Management/Biostatistics/Health Informatics
⚕ Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position is required
*Desired competences
• Ability to work under pressure
• Report writing skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good analytical & critical thinking skills
• Understandi of modern research and data analysis tools & method
*COMPENSATION
Salary Scale: Grade 8
