VACANCY
We are inviting applications from suitably qualified, committed and competent persons to fill the following positions that have arisen within Chegutu Rural District Council.
1. POSITION: CIVIL TECHNICIAN (GRADE 9)
REPORTING TO: ENGINEER
Duties and Responsibilities
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
• Interpreting designs and ensuring that work is performed as per design and according to program
• Setting out and supervising all engineering works
• Conducting material tests and analysis
• Drafting detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects to ensure compliance to specifications
• Preparation of rehabilitation and maintenance programs and reporting maintenance Problems
• Maintaining and Supervising the drawing office
• Management of Roads Staff and any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications and Attributes
• Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• HND in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.
• 5 ‘O’ Levels including English and Mathematics
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in Local Authorities
• Knowledge of relevant statutes
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• At least 30 years of age
• Possession of a driver’s license would be an added advantage
