VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 5 OF 2025
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the following vacancies that has arisen in Council:
Fire Tender Operator x1 (GRADE 6)
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following inter alia:
• Coordinate the fire control, rescue, hazardous materials clean up and pre-hospital medical treatment.
• Enforces Council’s fire codes, Policies and public safety
• Ensure on-going training and professional development of fire and emergency Service personnel
• Fire-fighting operations including rescue and emergencies.
• Manning the brigade and its operations.
• Fire control and preventions on domestic industrial and forest.
• Ability to generate concise reports.
• Performing firefighting training.
• Supervise fire fighters.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
• 5 ‘O’ Level including English and a Science subject.
• Fire fighter Certificate
• First Aide certificate added advantage
• Diploma in Local Government or any other qualification will be added advantage
• Clean Class 2 driver’s license.
• 3 years’ experience as leading fireman or 5 years background from Security service such as Prisons, Police, Army or CIO
• Physically fit
