SHURUGWI & SOUTH DYKE MINING DIVISION
Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome sector, has an exciting and challenging career opportunity within its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent, and experienced individuals to fill the vacant post of Mine Surveyor on a 3-year Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.
MINE SURVEYOR
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Survey or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution.
- At least 10 years’ post-qualification experience as a Mine Surveyor covering both underground and surface mining environments.
- Mastery of survey procedures:
- Traversing
- Levelling
- Topographic Survey
- Tachiometric Survey
- Stockpile Survey
- Proficiency in using:
- GNSS and Total Station
- Drones (distinct advantage)
- Proficiency in survey software; practical mastery of Vulcane Software Survey Modules (distinct advantage).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of safety management systems (exposure to NOSA SHE System is an advantage).
- Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP (added advantage).
- Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Conduct accurate surveys and produce associated plans.
- Monitor and detect illegal mining activities within Zimasco claim blocks.
- Update mining faces for surface and underground mines; maintain accurate records of mine workings.
- Guide underground mine development to ensure accuracy.
- Develop subordinates through training and mentorship.
- SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) Management within the Survey section.
