Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Workshop Foreperson, the successful candidates shall be responsible for the following:
- Carrying out Diagnostics and vehicle repairs
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Attending breakdowns
- Carrying out engines’ gearbox and components overhaul
- Record keeping
- Liaising with customers
- Training attachés and apprentices
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics
- Qualified artisan Class 1 in the applied trade preferably attained through apprenticeship training or a Diploma from a recognised institute
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years post apprenticeship training
- Experience in the maintenance of heavy-duty diesel vehicles
- Clean Class 2 driver’s licence is a must
- Personal Attributes
- Ability to diagnose problems and solve them
- Analytical mind, results oriented, safety consciousness
- Able to work under minimum supervision
