REQUIREMENTS

 

 

• A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Civil Engineering or structural Engineering from a reputable educational institution.

• An HND in the relevant field is an added advantage.

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a local authority, government or parastatal organization.

• Construction and traceable working experience is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD and any other drafting programme is an added advantage.

• A clean class 4 driver’s license.

• At least 30 years and above.

DUTIES

 

 

• Supervising and monitoring project infrastructure developments within the district.

• Coordinating road fund projects.

• Ensuring maintenance of roads and designs.

• Capturing, coordinating and ensuring works with outsourced contractors.

• Control of infrastructure development according to designs.

• Develop bill of quantities for specific projects.

• Produce proposals for work budgets, work schedule and reports on projects.

• Water design and maintenance.

• Preparation of detailed Bills of Quantities for road rehabilitation or new construction.

• Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

 

• Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, practices and methods as applicable to government and Council settings, some knowledge of applicable Council policies, by-laws and regulations relating to infrastructure development.

• Ability to analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geotechnical data to execute projects.

• Ability to use a computer utilizing standard and specialized software e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D used in planning, modelling and design of civil infrastructure is a requirement.
