VACANCY 

Key Job Functions:

• Head of Town Planning Department

• Supervising staff in the Town Planning Department

• Preparing Town Planning Department budget and annual plans

• Preparing Masterplan, Local plan and Layout plans

• Supervise and inspect Town Planning projects

• Responsible for town planning management and development control

• Processing applications for development and monitors development to ensure compliance with the operative planning frameworks

• Responsible for making oral presentations to the relevant Committee of Council

• Producing reports on town planning for the Town Secretary

• Attending Management, Committee and Council meetings

• Provides advice in town planning matters to Management, Council and stakeholders

• Carries out research for policy review, By-laws, legislative reviews and other emerging development issues

• Compliance with the relevant legislation and policies on town planning and development control

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Town Secretary

Minimum Job Requirements:

• A degree in Planning/Rural and Urban Planning/equivalent degree from a recognised University

• Member of a relevant Institute such as the Zimbabwe Institute of Rural and Urban Planning (ZIRUP)

• At least 5 years post qualification experience in middle management under Spatial Planning

• A citizen of Zimbabwe

• No criminal record

• A clean record of service within the Local Government Sector

• Clean Class 4 drivers licence

• Attach proof of spatial planning projects executed
