VACANCY
Responsibility
The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Finance Officer.
Key Job Purpose
The Head Financial Management will be responsible for financial reporting, financial planning, effective budget management, rigorous cost control, tax planning as well as tax management and providing actionable financial insights that drive business performance.
Principal Job Accountabilities

Develops and maintains the financial strategy for the finance department, including sourcing strategy, policies and procedures and internal controls.

Evaluates and manages financial performance as well as financial risks, advising on the financial implications of key business activities.

Provides financial decision-support and advisory services across all departments.

Oversees the preparation of monthly management accounts and formulates mitigating strategies to manage adverse variances.

Coordinates and prepares annual budgets and regular forecasts identifying strategies to close gaps where necessary.

Supports EXCO and functional department heads with in-depth data driven analysis of business activities.

Coordinates internal audit, external audit and due diligence processes.

Oversees tax planning and tax management.

Leads initiatives to optimize costs across the business while maintaining service quality.

Formulates performance standards in the finance department that guarantee the achievement of financial strategic objectives set.

Develops, contributes to and regularly updates policies governing key operations for the business including pricing policies, accounting policies.

Ensures adherence to internal financial controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements and sound corporate governance principles.

Ensure financial practices adhere to IFRS, local tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

Develops and continuously reviews the finance human resources strategy, establish training needs and develops training plans.
Qualifications and Experience

Must be a holder of a Finance/Accounting Degree.

Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

MBA/MBL will be an added advantage.

At least 7 years of experience in a similar or related environment, of which 4 years should be at a Senior Management level.
