VACANCY
- The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervise and mentor garage maintenance team.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and oversee complex repairs.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of parts.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training for the team.
- Prepare maintenance reports, including downtime and cost analysis.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment performance.
- Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within the maintenance operations.
- Implement best practices for maintenance and repair processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Class 1 Journeyman Diesel Plant Fitter
- 10 years post apprenticeship experience, at least 5 years at Supervisory level
- Experience in a mining or heavy manufacturing industry environment is an added advantage.
- Valid class 4 driver’s licence.
