Summary of Job Description:
This is a senior management position within the administration of Parliament that requires a candidate with a specialist health qualification and at least ten years’ experience in a similar role. The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the provision of health services to Parliament, including the implementation of policies and procedures, quality assurance, and compliance with relevant legislation.
Job Description:
- Establishes and implements health service procedures that guide health service delivery in Parliament.
- Develops, implements, and reviews health and safety policies, plans, and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
- Provides leadership and direction to the health services team, including performance management and development of staff.
- Manages the health services budget and ensures efficient utilization of resources.
- Prepares and submits periodic reports on health services to management.
- Coordinates the provision of occupational health services, including compliance with statutory requirements.
Minimum Person Specification:
- A Registered Principal Nursing Officer or equivalent with at least 10 years’ relatable managerial experience or
- A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree or relevant equivalent.
- 10 years’ experience as a Government Medical Officer (GMO) or equivalent is required.
- A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Knowledge and practical application of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in particular ISO 9001:2015, will be an added advantage.
