Position Overview
The University of Zimbabwe is seeking a qualified and experienced Counsellor to join its Health Services Directorate. The role involves offering psychosocial support to students and staff while promoting mental health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions on:
-
Psychosocial and mental health issues
-
HIV/AIDS awareness, adherence and prevention
-
Nutritional and stress-related support
-
Disclosure guidance and default follow-up
-
-
Facilitate support groups and student awareness campaigns
-
Conduct pre-test and post-test HIV counselling
-
Build trust with clients, empathizing and helping them navigate difficult circumstances
-
Refer individuals to appropriate service providers as needed
-
Participate in campus wellness initiatives
-
Maintain ethical and professional standards in line with registration council regulations
Qualifications & Experience
-
Minimum: Diploma in Counselling
-
Added Advantage: Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling
-
Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience
-
Registration with a recognized professional counselling body
