Job Overview
The Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Procurement Officer, based at its Harare office. This role is essential in ensuring the effective and compliant procurement of goods and services, aligned with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets (PPDPA) Act [Chapter 22:23].
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Source and process quotations for goods, services, and works

Prepare bidding documents and manage tender processes in line with the PPDPA Act

Compile bid opening and evaluation reports

Issue purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery

Maintain efficient procurement processes across all departments

Submit procurement returns to PRAZ and prepare internal procurement reports

File invoices, delivery notes, and supporting documentation appropriately

Coordinate travel, accommodation, and bookings for staff and board members

Ensure full compliance with the PPDPA Act and its latest amendments

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement reports in line with regulatory expectations

Perform any other procurement-related duties as assigned by the Registrar
Qualifications and Experience
-
Diploma in Procurement Management, Purchasing and Supply, or Supply Chain Management from a recognized institution or CIPS certification

A degree in a relevant field is an added advantage

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a procurement role, preferably in the public sector
Specialized Knowledge

Strong understanding of procurement laws, policies, and procedures in the public sector

In-depth knowledge of the PPDPA Act [Chapter 22:23]

Familiarity with the Zimbabwe Electronic Government Procurement System (e-GP)

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software tools
