Bikita Minerals Pvt Ltd, a leading player in Zimbabwe’s growing lithium mining sector, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Mine Manager to lead operations at our site. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager (Managing Director) and responsible for driving safety, productivity, and profitability.
Role Summary
As Mine Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mine operations, from extraction to compliance. You will ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations while delivering on production targets and cost-efficiency goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading complex mining operations and fostering high-performance teams.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mine to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable mineral extraction

Enforce Mining Management & Safety Regulations and ensure compliance with legal and safety directives

Lead the development and execution of safety management systems, risk assessments, and inspections

Ensure environmental compliance and implement systems to monitor, report, and reduce environmental impact

Manage the full mining value chain – from planning and extraction to processing and logistics

Maintain strong communication and relationships with communities, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities

Respond and report to mining inspectors and ensure proactive handling of any breaches or incidents

Uphold high standards of discipline, employee welfare, and operational excellence
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering (mandatory)

Full Blasting License (mandatory)

Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Master’s degree) is an added advantage

Membership in a professional organization (e.g., Chamber of Mines Engineers Association) is preferred

10+ years’ experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

In-depth knowledge of mining legislation, explosives handling, and safety protocols
Technical & Leadership Skills

Expertise in modern mining methods, rock mechanics, and mineral processing

Familiarity with mining software and emerging mining technologies

Strong strategic planning, decision-making, and risk management abilities

Proven ability to lead large teams, manage operational budgets, and oversee multidisciplinary projects

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills
