professional team as a Procurement Specialist.

The Position

Reporting to Director-Finance, the position is responsible for the following among other duties:

• Understands the business and procurement strategies for each commodity or service and supports procurement decisions within the parameters determined.
• Aligns performance metrics to organisational/project objectives so as to ensure the achievement of agreed deliverable.
• Develops and implements the procurement plan including timelines and objectives, based on the approved Opex and Capex budget.
• Guides the organisation on cost-effective procurement systems, policies and procedures.
• Administers the procurement function ensuring validity, accuracy, and completeness of requisitions.
• Evaluates bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical knowledge factors.
• Ensures contracts are managed including existing frameworks and account management.
• Monitors performance of suppliers and ensures agreed standards are met.
• Conducts research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
• Clarifies roles and responsibilities, motivates and manages subordinates to ensure performance targets, work and quality standards are achieved and maintained.
• Ensures resources, systems and processes are in place to supportthe achievement of work goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a procurement or supply chain role (2 years should have been in a senior role).
• Knowledge of Systems Applications and Products (SAP).
• Exhibition of excellent soft skills is a must.
