Applicants are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant posts that have arisen in the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission.

DIRECTOR EDUCATION, PROMOTION, RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY HEAD OFFICE

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops research and knowledge management policy for the Commission.
2. Identifyareas for research in line with the ZHRC mandate.
3. Plan, undertake and direct human rights research for the Commission.
4. Coordinate baseline surveys with critical stakeholders on human rights.
5. Conduct quarterly trend surveys and disseminate research findings to the relevant department and internal stakeholders.
6. Prepare research papers for national and international conferences or seminars.
7. Document and develop knowledge products, innovative practices and lessons-leamt documents for the Commission.
8. Manage the implementation of knowledge management and research activities of the Commission.
9. Collect and synthesizes program performance data and produce analytical reports to inform management and strategic decision-making
10. Prepare advocacy papers in liaison with the Director.
11. Represent the Commission as necessary at meetings, conferences.
12. Establish and develop human rights resource centres/libraries in line with best practices.
13. Appraise, supervise and offer advice to subordinates.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIB UTES
⦁ Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Library and Information Science, or any relevant qualification from an accredited tertiary institution.
⦁ A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
⦁ A minimum of 3 years’ experience conducting research.
⦁ Excellent research and knowledge management skills.
⦁ Good report writing and presentation skills.
⦁ Excellent leadership skills.
⦁ Abili ty and tenacity to work with Government and other stakeholders
⦁ Strong analytical skills
⦁ Must be a person of high integrity, professionalism, assertiveness and innovation.
⦁ Proficient in Microsoft packages.
⦁ Prof iciency in at least one statistical software package e.g. Excel or SPSS
⦁ A clean class four (4) driver s license.
