Director Legal Complaints Handling and Investigations Harare
Job Purpose:
• To assist Director Legal Complaints Handling and Investigations in providing legal support to the Commission and ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide legal advice and guidance to the Commission and Zimbabwe Gender Commission clients.
• To assist in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures for the Legal and Corporate Service Function of the Commission.
• Conduct legal training and capacity building on gender equality laws and human rights and other related legal issues to the Commission, stakeholders, and the general public.
• Assist in conducting investigations of possible violations related to gender in accordance with established legal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in drafting and negotiating contracts and Memoranda of Understanding entered by and between the Commission and stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, annual, and other reports.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
• A Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
• A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Gender related work.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Ability and tenacity to work with Government and other stakeholders.
• Must be a person of high integrity, professionalism, assertiveness, and innovation.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft packages.
• A clean class four (4) driver’s license.
