Person Specification
The ability to multitask.
The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work after normal working hours.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Painter Class 3 or 4
At least 2 years experience as a painter
Experience in a tertiary institution would be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
Spread drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and cover surfaces, such as door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
Make on-site preparations such as erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders to perform tasks above ground level
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material
Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
Apply varnish and other finishes
Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
Contributing to the success of the Central Services and Amenities Department by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
