CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

We have been retained by our client Mutapa Investment Fund to facilitate the recruitment and selection of self-driven and competent personnel to fill the vacant position of Chief Investment Officer that has arisen within their organization.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Formulates and implements the investment strategy and policies that align with the Fund’s objectives and risk appetite.
Develops financial models and perform valuation analysis to assess investment feasibility, potential returns and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and negotiate investment deals.
Prepares and presents investment proposals and reports to the Board for approval and ensures compliance with investment guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Supervises risk management across the Fund’s portfolios and implements risk management frameworks and tools to monitor and control investment risks.
Prepares risk reports and provides recommendations to the Board and senior management, regularly reviews and updates risk management policies and procedures.
Collaborates with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Promotes effective communication and collaboration among team members and other departments.
Collaborates with marketing and communications teams to develop effective stakeholder communication materials.
Conducts internal audits, risk assessments to identify compliance gaps, implements corrective actions.
Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and provides training and guidance to the investment team on compliance matters.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with investors, government officials, business partners and conducts regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Ensures that sound investment policies are followed and, ensures managing and developing of financial analysts and investment professionals.

JOB RELATED ATTRIBUTES
The ideal incumbent must possess the following minimum qualifications, competences, and experience:
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional Qualifications: Certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or similar qualification.
• At least 7 years of experience in Investment management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
