City of Kings Business Ventures, a subsidiary of Bulawayo City Council is looking for a Farm Manager with a good business sense to join its team.

DUTIES

The Farm Manager’s responsibilities will include; monitoring staff, crops and livestock, purchasing supplies, preparing budgets and reports, ensuring maximum profit, and planning for future growth while ensuring compliance with government regulations

The incumbent will need to show evidence of the following

A knowledge of food production and an awareness of customer demand
Organisational and time management skills
The ability to work under pressure
Supervisory skills and management ability
Numerical aptitude
Willingness to be outside in all weathers
A full driving licence
Self-motivation, with the ability to motivate others
Large scale business awareness
Marketing skills
Negotiation skills
Genuine commitment to farming
IT skills
A good understanding of modern farming methods

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science or equivalent
Additional courses in business management and administration are recommended
Extensive experience in farming related field
Management experience will be an added advantage
A passion for agriculture
Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
The ability to make decisions in stressful environment
Superb communication and interpersonal skills
