ASSISTANT FITTERS x2 – Turbo Mining 4 views

POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking to hire an assistant fitter able to follow instructions from the artisan/management and be able to carry out daily duties without supervision. The individual will also be responsible for preparing equipment that is to be repaired by Artisan by scraping, cleaning etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare joints to flange faces by scraping hand wire brushing using power tools to ensure that
surfaces satisfy for the correct jointing.
Prepare equipment for use and ensure the correct tools are available for the job.
Ensure that oxygen and Acetylene bottles are full and replaced when empty. Prepare portable/electrical equipment for use when necessary and report any defects to the
Artisan/Supervisor. + Assists Artisan with minor rigging work, obtain slings and chain blocks, and must be able to use the lifting equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS. EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
50′ Levels including Mathematics and English
Must be able to work in all weather conditions, walking, climbing, lifting etc
Must be able to work around moving machinery, in the vicinity of hot pipes
Effective communication skills
