Job Description

• To supervise a team of electrical maintenance personnel through planning, scheduling, assigning duties, participating and inspecting work of artisans, assistants and trainees in accordance to local down work procedures and electrical regulations when performing all aspects of electrical installations, fault finding, repair and maintenance work within the estate as instructed by the electrical manager or directed by the Estate Manager in the absence of the Electrical Manager.
• To provide attention to detail and dedication of work in order to ensure safe availability and distribution of electricity as required by the Estate and the company at which includes all departments i.e. Harvesting, Fields and workshops.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assigns jobs and supervising subordinates on daily work activities as specified by the company.
• Provides communication to subordinates on operations and maintenance of electrical plants/ equipment’s.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with field department, harvesting and mechanical department and maintenance groups to assure timely and efficient repairs are required.
• Orders electrical spares through procurement department.
• Performs root causes and effects analysis.
• Enforces company policies and procedures relating to SHE, asset management and stationery issues.
• Performs training of subordinates and trainees.
• Carry out electrical projects which includes install and commissioning.
• Updating the Electrical Manager on all routine maintenance Jobs.
• Stand in for the Electrical Manager during his absence.
• Attending to critical breakdowns.
• To ensure that all breakdowns are attended to in time.

Qualifications and Experience

• National Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent
• Class 1 Journeyman trade Tested.
• 5 years’ experience and having been exposed to different system.
• Experience working with Pivots, Soft starters and VSDs is an added advantage.
• Clean Class 4 drivers’ licence
