CAMPFIRE UNIT INTERNS (Bl) X 2 CORPORATE CENTRE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above
position based at Corporate Centre. The incumbent will report to the Campfire Coordinator.

Duties (Responsibilities)

S Assists in the collating of CAMPFIRE operations data.

S Assists in the identification and planning of linkages with the CAMPFIRE programmes Unit, Stakeholders and NGOs to ensure swift operations of the CAMPFIRE.

S Assists in the Liaison with Regions Community Liaison Officers to ensure and facilitate compliance enforcement of CAMPFIRE statute.

S Assists in the compilation and submission of regular and ad hoc reports on programmes Activities.

S Assists in capturing HWC data into a standardized database S Assists in developing strategies for community-based HWC mitigation schemes S Assists in organizing and delivering training seminars and workshops for different target groups that raise awareness of solutions to HWC S Assists in supporting the development of educational material on HWC topics S Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Natural Resources management, Wildlife Management, Environmental Science or any other relevant degree.
  • Has knowledge of Parks Estates, environment and basic understanding of wild animals’ behavior
  • Basic understanding of human-wildlife conflicts
  • Willingness to learn and take part in training programs offered by Parks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to engage with the public.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
