Job Summary

Under the directions of the Laboratory Manager the Lab Analyst is expected to competently use and operate laboratory equipment in accurately carrying out product process analysis in shift work.

Duties And Responsibilities

 Receiving coal samples performs analysis on all samples presented to the lab, before mining, after (blasting) mining, on the crusher plant, on the wash plant, on stockpiles
 Process and analyze routine coal samples with standard industry testing methods established by Lab management and procedures.
 Observing results and quality control data to ensure compliant conditions.
 Informing the supervisor of any deviation from acceptable quality control and implementing corrective action
 The candidate is also responsible for the calibration of Laboratory machinery
 Carries out all duties safely, and in compliance with all legislations, codes, company policies, and procedures.

Qualifications And Experience

 Diploma in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy or Metallurgical Assaying.
 Good Technical Report writing with coupled proficiency in MS Office packages.
 At least 1 years’ experience in a coal mining and mineral processing environment
 Good communication skills
 Attention to detail.
