1. COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER –
DEPARTMENT OF CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
⦁ Degree in Marketing Studies, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalence.
⦁ At least 5 years experience in a Public Relations environment.
⦁ Experience in working for a public institution will be an added advantage.
⦁ Proficiency in relevant Computer Software.
⦁ Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
⦁ Ability to quickly create a working relationship and gain acceptance by multidisciplinary staff at different levels.
⦁ Ability to manage social media platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
⦁ Coordinate publicity events as and when required.
⦁ Assist management in fostering the image and work of the organization by liaising with the media, preparing/issuing press releases and arranging media interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization.
⦁ Recommends appropriate communication strategies in crisis situations to maintain a good image and keep stakeholders informed.
⦁ Oversees the content and relevance of the Kadoma City Council’s social media, websites, etc.
