Nash Paints Inc is looking for a Fitter and Turner to be responsible for all metal machining, overhauling and repairing all types of machinery i.e. pumps, cooling tower, mills, conveyors.

•Keep the working environment safe and healthy, workable and clean

•Attends to breakdowns ensuring that there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimized.

• Always endeavor to reduce downtime of plant and machinery

•Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently

•Has a good understanding and working knowledge of the company’s equipment and machinery, working towards continually improving that knowledge

•Commissioning and Installation of new equipment

•Liaise effectively with external contractors; − Works with contractors and ensures work performed by contractors is up to standard.

•Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance reports.

•Updating equipment inventory

•Conducts allocated preventative maintenance inspections, servicing and fault finding as per the inspection schedule and within the set time frame.

•Raises Maintenance request for all work identified to be done during the inspections.

•Making sure all relevant and appropriate Quality and Total Quality Management documents are readily available

•NC or better in Machine shop Engineering / Fitting and Turning.

• 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics and English.

• At least three years post apprenticeship experience, preferably in a manufacturing setup.

•Problem solving skills

•Good mechanical skills

•Ability to act quickly when a problem arise

•Decision making skills

•Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS is an added advantage

•Strong written and verbal communication skills
