Netone Cellular (Private) Limited seeks to recruit highly motivated, outstanding and results-oriented individuals to fill the following positions.

Vacancy : Technical Assistants – Zvishavane, Zvishavane. Chiredzi, Masvingo, Hwange, Lupane, Mutare, Karoi, Harare, Murewa

Reporting to the Field Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting field Maintenance Engineers in the maintenance of the mobile network elements with emphasis on rigging, so as to provide optimum service to the customers, safely, timely and cost effectively.

Principal Job Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment racks and cabinets, indoor and outdoor equipment, antennae, for BTS and Transmission systems etc in accordance with laid down procedures
• Maintains and repairs/ replaces and test cables, viz, feeders / waveguides, coaxial, and fibre as per instructions;
• Carries out appropriate cable terminations
• Maintains sites in a high state of cleanliness inside and outside including grounds
• Carries out first line maintenance of the diesel engine and air conditioning plants
• Deliver fuel to sites and maintain accurate fuel delivery records of each site
• Takes up standby duties during weekends and holidays as per schedule
• Performs any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 O Levels including English and Maths
• A Diploma in Telecommunications Systems or equivalent
• One year experience in similar environment
• Knowledge of Telecommunications systems
• Rigging experience an added advantage

Competencies

• Ability to climb and work on both guyed and self supporting towers
• Ability to install / replace RF cables and optic fibres
• Knowledge of Telecommunications Systems with a bias towards Mobile communications and transmission systems
• Basic knowledge of Telecommunications Power Systems
• Computer Literacy
• Possession of a class 4 driver’s licence with a minimum of two years experience
• Knowledge of and adherence to safe working procedures
