The Coordinator will primarily be responsible for ensuring household resilience and economic stability through supporting IPs, government and communities to roll out community-based interventions.

 

Duties And Responsibilities

 

The Coordinator will primarily be responsible for ensuring household resilience and economic stability through supporting IPs, government and communities to roll out community-based interventions that strengthen household’s capacity to achieve child wellbeing outcomes; improving OVC caregivers to access money without selling productive assets, ability to access important family needs; access economic and social support and youth skills building as a strategy to reduce their risk to HIV. The cadre will train sub-partners, government teams and communities in Economic Strengthening options ISALS, SPM, viable IGAS, Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Planning, Financial Literacy and market linkages. The HES Coordinator will work with identified technical support to strengthen sub-partners to deliver the SIYAKHA, AFLATOUN and On the Money models as a strategy to strengthen financial literacy, market driven entrepreneurship and vocational training, work readiness and small business opportunities for youth and out of school adolescents. He/she; working closely with sub-partners, MOPSE, DSD and communities; will support interventions aimed at increasing children and adolescent’s attendance and progression in school; reintegration of out of school children to formal and informal education and vocational skills training. This position will oversee the delivery of education subsidies. The ES Coordinator will work with sub-partner field-based ES officers and assistants who will be directly under his/her supervision.

 

Qualifications And Experience

• Master’s Degree in economics, agriculture, social sciences, international development, or a related field preferred
• At least six (6) years of experience designing, implementing, and monitoring household economic strengthening and youth economic empowerment activities
• Demonstrated experience linking youth to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities
• Experience in leveraging private sector partnerships and resources for creation of business opportunities, business mentorship and skills training, and market access, strategies
• Strong experience in providing technical assistance and mentorship
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders including government representatives, local community organizations, donors, and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success providing effective technical assistance to local organizations.
