This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. The position requires exceptional technical skills and experience, as well as superior interpersonal, people management and leadership skills. The incumbent will report to the Acting Chief Executive Officer. The incumbent will provide leadership in the Material and Services division.
DUTIES
Maintenance of all farming equipment including electricals, to ensure that targets are met or surpassed.
Carry out down time analysis and implement strategies.
Maintenance of safety and health systems for the engineering division.
Inventory management.
Implementation of the preventative maintenance programme.
Inspection of organizational vehicles for compliance with statutory requirements.
Leading and supervising a team of artisans.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified artisan class 1 (Diesel plant fitter/motor mechanic/Electrician/Fitter)
Apprentice trained.
3-5 years hands on experience in a motor, plant, equipment and buildings maintenance environment.
Experience in the maintenance of farm equipment, and building infrastructure e.g. pumps, generators, compressors.
Must have the ability to work in an environment with competing priorities.
Highly analytical and attentive to detail.
A good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy.
Clean Driver’s License.
