ZESA Holdings (Pvt) Ltd is a state owned Company whose mandate is the generation, transmission, distribution and retailing of electricity, provision of telecommunication services as well as manufacturing and retailing of related electrical equipment. The Company is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following positions that have arisen within the Company and based at its Head Office in Harare:
GENERAL MANAGER (INTERNATIONAL
BUSINESS AND SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS)
REF: Z/HHR21/09/2022
This is a senior management position reporting to the Executive Chairman.
The successful candidate is responsible for;
Developing strategies for engaging prospective Regional and International clients and partners.
- Negotiating and recommending contracts with global partners
- Benchmarking and recommending adoption of international best practices
- Identifying and analysing global electricity market trends
- Implementing Regional and International engagement and re-engagement initiatives and projects for investment attraction
- Building relationship with Regional and International funders ,Promoting Regional development of generation and transmission assets
- Researching and recommending adoption of emerging technologies in the electricity supply industry such as carbon trading initiatives
- Developing and recommending strategies and regimes for conjunctive dispatch and operation of renewable energy resources i.e hydro, solar and wind.
- Implementing special projects and assignments as may be assigned by the Executive Chairman.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Electrical Engineering
- A post graduate qualification such as an MBL/MBA
or equivalent
- Corporate membership of a recognised professional institution viz. ZIE, IEE and ECZ
- 10 years relevant post graduate experience of which 8 years should be at senior management level.
