Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the position of Farm Operations Officer for a farm located in Vumba . Reporting to the Farm Manager, the incumbent shall be responsible for the daily planning, organisation, supervision and administration of agricultural activities.
DUTIES
Planning and supervise general farm worker’s day to day activities;
Assess, suggest and help in the implementation of work procedures which are beneficial for the business;
Oversee sorting & overall handling of produce to ensure highest possible quality of products;
Create work schedules and establish procedures, train employees on work site
of farming activities.
Budgeting and maintaining accurate financial records.
Organising sales of crops and agricultural products.
Overseeing administrative records.
Recruiting, training/instructing and supervising workers.
Ensuring that work progresses satisfactorily.
Ensuring compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases.
Ensuring proper use of farm equipment
Organising maintenance/repair of property, equipment and machinery.
REQUIREMENTS
A Degree/Diploma in Agriculture/Crop Production and Animal Science
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
Experience with both crop and animal production
Clean class 4 driver’s licence
