JOB DESCRIPTION

AFC Insurance, a subsidiary of AFC Holdings seeks to recruit a Claims Officer to provide expertise with claims handling and processing. Reporting to the Claims Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing all claims in an efficient and effective manner. We seek to recruit a self- motivated individual with a drive to “get things done”.

DUTIES
Claims processing including but not limited to receiving and acknowledging receipt of a claim, collecting accurate information and documents and analyzing claims by policy holders or third parties.
Submitting claims for premium confirmation to credit control section.
Submitting claims to underwriting for cover confirmation.
Liaising with assessors and analyzing the findings for decision making. Generating payment requisition on receipt of signed release form from client.
Initiating third party and reinsurance recoveries.
Analyzing portfolio performance and provide appropriate recommendation to underwriting.
Ensuring salvage due to the business is accounted for.
Adhering to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the business.

REQUIREMENTS
Honours Degree in Risk Management and Insurance.
Diploma In short term insurance an added advantage.
At least 2 years’ experience in short term insurance claims processing.
Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
